93 DX antenna replacement

I'm trying to replace the roof mounted antenna on a 93 Camry. I figured I'd just attached a string to the radio end and pull the old one out, but that didn't work. It must be taped down internally. So I pulled the old one out the best I could and fished the new one down into the opening. So far, so good, except where the heck did it go? I can't figure out where it goes unless it's behind the upper part of the dash.
Anyone know how I can find the end of the antenna cable?
