Started the car about an hour ago and it ran for about 5 seconds before stalling.  This has happened before and cranking it would usually get it going.  No such luck today.  Any ideas?  Oh, and i know nothing about cars so any help would be appreciated.

Well that makes it tough because it could be a number of things. Usually you need to do some basic troubleshooting which will give the rest of us a clue. Here is a link to the factory manual you can research.

I have a 99 Camry LE that had the same symptoms.  I just returned from the dealer yesterday.  It was the Idle Air Control Valve, which gets clogged  and fails.  This prevents the car from idling properly.  When my car stalled, I could keep it from stalling by revving the engine.  But, when I released the accelerator, the car would stall.

It appears to be a common problem with the Camry.  This is the second Idle Air Control Valve that I've had to have installed.

Does it do this on every start? Or just the starts when the engine is already warm?

At what mileage did your two previous IAC valves fail?
