HI,

I have 98 Camry V6 and my front break pads are grinding very fast . Say in last 14 months I got front breaks done twice. Used Ceremic break pads. Can anybody suggest what can be the reason ? My car makes much noise on bumps can Struts be one of the problems. ?

Thanks in advance.

The pads are grinding or the rotors are grinding? Ceramic pads last longer but rotors last shorter. When was the last time the calipers were serviced - slides cleaned and re-greased?

Suspension noise is different. Struts possible? How many miles?

First of all I would like to thank you.

1. Pads are grinding not rotors.
2. I am driving this car for last 2 years only so in last break service clippers were serviced.
3. 86 K miles .

Thanks

87k and two sets of pads in 14 months is definately a problem, as long as you aren't hard on the brakes. The ceramic pads might have a certain break-in procedure or if there is a brake proportioning valve the rear brakes may not be working as much as they should. You should have the shop that installed the pads and /or did the calipers check this out. The low mileage of those pads may mean at least free pads if not free labor.

Check the operation of the rear brakes and the proportioning valves. If they're not working properly, it puts too much load on the front brakes.

Thank you guys. I will get rear brakes checked in detail.
