I did not expect to buy a toyota and did not do my homework regarding the prices. After 4 hours of back-and-forth at the dealership, I bought 2008 Camry XLE 6-cyl with Navi, smart key, and electronic stability system for $30,200 out the door. Is that a good deal, middle of the road, or way too much? Please help! If you don't mind sharing, what are the prices people are paying for this vehicle?

Thanks!

That's waay too much IMO.. a brand new lexus es350 (Lexus' Camry) has an MSRP of $32K. If you shopped around for an ES.. chances are; you could have found one out the door at the same price as the camry. (give or take a couple hundred). Good Luck.

I think you didn't get a deal. You didn't get totally taken, but, the truth is that here in Ky. a Camry XLE with all those options is stickered at $30,000 dollars to begin with. So you got it at a fair price, but, not a OMG THAT'S SO AWESOME price.

Lexus ES 350 the cheapest package that includes navigation carries an MSRP of $41,735.00. So I don't think you are entirely correct, OnE_To_HatE.

Sarah7106, thanks for your opinion. Cars must be cheaper in KY. I bought the car in California San Francisco region, and the MSRP was $31,700. OTD it would have been $34K-$35 going by the sticker. That's why when I bought it I thought it's an OK deal.

I wish more people would share what they got their car for.

No way! 41K for an ES? - the MSRP on the website ov one ov the northern ca. Lexus' was @ 32,9XX. I checked it right before i made that statement since i saw that you were looking at an XLE. Some models of XLEs actually overlaps the base model ES in pricing. My brother in law works for Toyota and a long time friend of mines work @ a lexus dealership and they both sing the same song about price overlaps between the 2 brands.

My husband and I just bought an IS. You're correct that the starting price is 32,9XX, but, that's on a RWD IS 250 not 350.

They may be cheaper here due to the cost of living and such. That's why I included that that price is here in Ky. and to answer your question I got my SE for 3% below invoice.

I think you made a fair deal, you won't be accused of stealing it, but not bad!  Lexus ES 350s are starting at $39K MSRP in Alaska.
