I'm trying to do an engine swap on my 1992 toyota camry le. i threw a rod, so i'm replacing the whole engine/trans combo with that from a '93 camry, but i seem to have hit a speed bump in the process...

can anyone tell me how i can remove the halfshafts so that i can rip this sumbi*ch?

im guessing you are referring to the passenger axle shaft..if so the shaft is held by a large clip and a bolt..remove them and the shaft should slide out..it mit be rusted on, so you mit have to muscle it out..

I am in fact referring to the axle shaft. i understand how to remove it from the transmission. my issue was with removing it without taking my wheels off. hope that help you understand my problem.

that is a problem....but if you are replacing the motor and trany..isn't easier to remove the wheels and lower the subframe with the motor and trany with it?

that's an issue for me. wont i have to compress the shocks to put my rotors back on and my wheels so i can roll my car from under the engine/tranny?
