I am in the process of cleaning of my IAC. I can't get the electrical connector to come off and I don't want to break it. Is there a secret to it? It is in a bit of a difficult spot and I can only get one hand on it. The engine is a 5S-FE I4 in a 93 camry.
Thanks

It is possible to clean the valve whilst still connected to the throttle. With engine running spray the cleaner into the slot in the throttle body that goes to the intake of the IAC valve.
Typically these plugs have a plastic clip that must be pressed to be released before the plug will slide out. Suggest experimenting with a few more accessible electrical connectors to get the feel of how to do it.

thanks for the help in trying diagnose my engine stall. sounded like the iac from other posts. I tried the cleaning but the car stilled stalled. finally took it to a patient mechanic. FYI it turned out to be a faulty coolant sensor that was causing the stalling.
