hey everyone. i was never into cars until i got one, lol. i have a 2003 i4 camry le with no options on it. i want to modify it...i want to put on a body kit, rims, exhaust, lights, cool air intake..that whole jammy. i don't think i'll be touching the engine (because i'm not very familiar with cars) but i'd like to make the a bit faster...but nothin serious.
i wanna work the exterior first..and i was just wondering if there were any tips or any suggestions from people here. also, if people even modified camrys. there are plenty other cars out there but i have taken a liking to the camry and this picture really got me into it:
http://www.jmdracing.com/images/thumbs/jp_camry_body_kit.jpg http://www.srsauto.com/Camry03b.jpg a lot of people tell me its not worth modifying a camry, especially a gen5 camry...but i've taken quite a liking to this car and i'd like to make it look nicer/different. is it really not worth modifying a camry? if it is, is it worth selling the camry and getting a new car that is more 'modifiable'?
im brand new at this so i'm just looking for tips and such..

yea i guess i can say that you and I are basically in the same situation. I sorta dont know a whole lot about engine, but i do know that if you are looking for speed, into racing and such, a camry wont be in that category. If your looking for something different, and just like fixing up cars, then I would have to say go on ahead!
Im basically fixing up my camry for the soul purpose that no one around my area has a fixed up camry, so i wanna be different.

I beg to differ on that.A camry can be fast.Mine is proof of it.Custom fabricating can be done, but anything is possible.I have only seen one camry of my generation (mine is a 94) with a bodykit,so alot of people do n't mess with them. But every friday night at the drag strip mine gets alot of attention.

The modifications your mentioning don't cost the earth anyway. Keep the modifcations simple, do you homework on the gear u want..ie like u mentioned and lowering it abit does the trick. When modding a car I always keep in the back of my mind the resale (which mods dont add to it).
