I just aquired a 1995 camry le, 4cyl and there is something wrong with the Steering. I am fairly certain that its the Power Steering Pump because the steering is jerky and the belt squeals when i turn it all the way.

i know another person with a 1994 camry xle and she has gone through 2 PSPs and i am wondering if this is a well established issue or if its a fluke. If it is well established has Toyota or an after market company manufactures one that doesnt suck.

I wouldn't look for a pump problem first. Check your belt tension. Then your steering rack. It almost sounds like there is a binding in the steering somewhere. Might even be a ball joint. I just replaced a perfectly good original P/S pump on my car because of a leak in the shaft seal. I just didn't want to mess with the seal. The re-built replacement came with a lifetime warranty. The only way to check a P/S pump is to do a pressure check.

Just throwing this out there. I believe Toyota did a recall on 1995 Camry for steering issues:

THE STEERING WHEEL SET NUT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN SUFFICIENTLY TIGHTENED CAUSING STEERING VIBRATION AND LOOSENESS
