I recently boughta 2004 Camry. Dealer had sprayed it witha Clear Coat "preservative" of some sort. You know, one of those "add-ons" that you didn't ask for that is just a profit builder for the dealer? ($650 w/free refresh every 6 months.) I did not want it, would not pay for it and dealer promptly reduced the "haggle room" by, oh, I'd guess about $650. However, no one bothered to mask off the headlights so there was about 3/4" of overspray on the lenses. I'm read on the forum that Mother's Alumenium & Metal Polish was great at rejunivating headlight lenses so I tried it. As I don't have a PowerBall, I found that Mother's _does_ do the job when applied 1 part Mother's to 10 (or more) parts elbow grease. It REALLY works! Rather slowgoing w/o the PowerBall but DID get the job done.

I will be buying a PowerBall as the old '93 Cougar my wife drives has seriously yellowed lenses...like it spent it's entire life in Phoenix...outdoors. And I simply don't have that much elbow grease left.

Got my small can of Mother's Aluminium & Metal Polish at WalMart for about $3.75 or so.

White toothpaste works pretty well too. Buff it on in a circular motion and then wipe it off with a clean rag.

Default Headlight lenses - polishing

This is after a couple of hours of work, using aHeadlight Polishing kit made by 3M, that I boughtat Auto Zone for about 18 bucks. This is my daughter's 1994 Civic. It was not hard at all. Email me at franciscoperez@roadrunner.com if you have any questions.

I tried to polich the lights on my 15 year old camry and discovered that it was acually in part the plastic that turned yellow. There were these wierd little cracks too. Found some aftermarket lights on ebay for $100.00 to my door. Nothing beats new lenses!
