Default Add sat nav to 2014 Camry Hybrid

When we bought my wife's 2014 TCH back in 2014, we did not get the satnav package as it seemed way overpriced.

Now we are thinking about an aftermarket unit but know absolutely nothing about them, so my questions are VERY basic.

1) I'm assuming that the radio unit that came with the car is to be discarded. Do the aftermarket units have their own radios?

2) Do any of them have that cool "power display"?

3) Are there any that you recommend? I know from a quick search that you can get lots of features but I think all we want is sat nav, radio and bluetooth connection for her phone.

4) Do any have backup cameras or is that a separate add-on?

Thanks.

The basics are:

Look for a GPS Navigation system having an AM/FM radio, Bluetooth, backup display. Some are also setup for Sirius.

These systems tend to offer more features then what you want because it is easy and cheap to do so. You may not be able to get around this.

If "power display" means touch screen then yes navigation systems have this.

If your car did not have wiring for the Sat/Nav antenna you will need to add this.

You will need to add the actual backup camera.

Many people buy on Ebay as prices are the cheapest.

Can search sites like Crutchfield.com which has a technical support staff to help you.

Can't help on specific units.

For this you might search Toyotanation.com which has both TCH and audio section. If no answers ask in the appropriate section.

State all the car information including option base such XL, XLE, etc and current radio type such as optional JBL or standard radio.

Thanks. It's an LE with the standard "Display Audio: 6.1" touch screen, AM/FM/CD with MP3/WMA, 6 speakers, Aux jack, USB w/iPod conn & Bluetooth."

The power display I mentioned is the one that shows where the power comes from (battery, motor) and where it goes (wheels, charge the battery).

I'll look at Crutchfield and eBay.

Thanks.

You might be able to add just Sat/Nav to the current system as this has been for previous years.

Ask at the Toyotanation site. State you want to add navigation to the current system.
