Default 1997 Toyota Camry LE Tail Lights on Trunk Not Working

Hello,

As the title says, I have a 1997 Toyota Camry LE. The rear light failure light is on, however the only lights that don't work are the night time running lights on the trunk that switch on when I turn my lights on. I have tried switching out the bulbs, but they are all working so that is not the issue.

What could the issue be? I have read that it could be the light failure sensor going bad, but I wanted ti make sure that any other problems were ruled out before needing to bypass it or having to by a new replacement part from Toyota.

Edit: I forgot to add that the fuse for the rear lights is blown and continues to blow when I replace it. Just to see if it would work, I replaced the 10a blown fuse with a 30, and that seemed to do the trick, although I removed the 30a fuse right after because I know that using a higher amp fuse than what is needed can cause other electrical issues.

Check the bulb sockets for corroded connection terminals.

Make sure the bulbs are getting 12v and the ground wire has no resistance.

Check for high mounted stop light issues.

Check the sensor box for voltage inputs, ground, etc.

-Green/white is brake light.
-Red/blue is 12v from Gauge fuse.
-Yellow/green powers the indicator light.
-Red is high mounted stop light. The ground white/black wires ties into the ground wires for the sensor box and lower tail lights the goes to chassis..
-Green/red is lower brake lights but colors may vary.
-White/black is ground. Ground wire ties into the lower brake light ground wires by a junction box then go to chassis ground as two locations. One location is the chassis ground point stated above for the upper brake light.
