98 Camry Tail Light Issue
Mine is 1998 Toyota Camry XLE V6. Everything is working good except driver side tail light. It causes the light indicator to glow on the dash board. So I changed the wiring yesterday. The light indicator still glowing. When I inspect the one of the tail light is not working. The holder becomes very hot. Thy this it becomes hot? Please let me know your valuable opinion.
Thanks in advance,

How do you know this tail light is causing the indicator to turn on? Does the indicator light come on when the tail lights are turned on? If so, have you changed all tail light bulbs.
Why did you change the wiring? Did you also change the suspected bulb socket?
The light indicator is connected to a box installed into the tail and brake light wiring. The box detects too high or low current flow.
If the actually bulb holder socket is getting hot, there is a bad electrical connection causing higher then normal current flow. Check the holder for corrosion, rust, etc and clean as required.
Make sure the bulb part number is correct.

Hi Toyomoho,
One of the tail light holder is burned out due to heat. So i replaced it with the new holder. Still that light is not working and getting heat in the holder. I used the correct bulb number.
Thank You,

Compare this socket and installation to the other one that does get hot.
Check the bulb fit, location of socket terminals to metal side of the socket, voltage at hot wire (green) and ohm reading at the ground wire. Ground is typically black or white/black.
