Looking to check/replace my PCV valve. Not certain if it's ever been replaced before. I've located it, took the hose off but can't seem to pull the thing out. Not sure if I'm being too gentle with it or if there's a trick? Can I use a flathead screwdriver to pry it out?

The valve is hand pressed into the grommet and can stick. You can pry it out but note it might break in two thus have a new valve handy. Be careful not to damage the grommet which can become brittle with age or just replace this also.
