99 camry 2.2 engine locked up?
First time camry owner. Have only had it6 days as a matter of fact :/ Was leaving work today, and heard a rattling/chattering sound under the hood. Put it in reverse, then drive, then a louder, but not very loud rattle, and it died on the spot. Was hoping the starter locked up. Took it off, and it was fine. Put a 3/4 wrench on the idler pulley, and it won't turn. Assuming I threw a rod/ bearing? Oil is clean on the dip stick, haven't dropped the oil pan yet. No hole in the block, was at low rpm. Was wondering if anyone had been through this before? If so, is it something I can fix just by taking the top half off? Even worth me digging into it, or just seek out a used/rebuilt engine? If so, can anyone recommend a place for a quality engine at a reasonable price? It's a 99, with the 2.2 four cylinder. Thanks for reading, my baby girl will be here in a month, and i need this car back on the road ASAP!!
