Default Iridium spark plugs? How long do they last??

I assume my 2003 4-cylinder Camry LE has Iridium spark plugs? The dealer tells me they only need to be replaced at 110,000 miles. Could that possibly be correct? I'm at 108,000 and nervous as a cat that I'm on the ORIGINAL spark plugs.

And is this something the dealer should do or can my local garage handle this one? In other words, is it a repair that can easily be screwed up?

Toyota scheduled maintenance for plugs in this car is 120K miles, no need to be worry.

With a few tools you can change the plugs yourself, this is an easy job.

If youre that worried you should probablygo ahead and replace them. The schedule is 120k but ive seen them bad before that. It only takes 10 mins tops with hand tools.

has anybody heard anything good or bad about the Pulstar pulse plugs? They are supposed to help increase performance and allow for a more complete burning of fuel, but I dont know how much of it is BS.

I doubt they do what they claim. They areusing theincreased wattage to back it up but its really the voltage value that defines the performance of a plug.I wouldnt go along with them until SAE backs up their claims.

If you drive hard, get them replaced, but i mean they can last up to 120K. I personally would have changed the plugs around 90K.

My dad's corolla which use irridium's are at 80K and they still look fairly healthy, but i wouldnt keep em till 120K.

I would change them at the 100,000 mile mark..Iridium plugs are better because of the type of metal they are and usually lastlonger than other types of plugs. However at 100,000 miles they are worn and should be replaced no matter what.

Im at 96 k and would change mine but ill wait till the 100k warranty is upjust to be safe ill probably change the coils too!

Default platinum or iridium

forgive my silly question- I have an 2002 4cyl camry and got bosch+4 platinum plugs.
I've heard different stories-
is it mandatory to use iridiums? or can platinums be used?
if I use bosch platinums, will there be problems (now or down the line)

not mandatory, but the specified iridium plugs are about as good as it gets, well worth the cost. I changed mine at 100,000 miles and they still looked great.

I use a single ground electrode NGK platinum which is less than half the cost of the
dual ground so called OEM and is on the list of plugs recommended by NGK for the I4. I think it works better because the center electrode is not as shrouded. I don't mind changing them at 50 K. Changing them more often means less chance of a plug freezing to the head, though EVERYBODY should use Permatex antiseize or smething like it on the threads.
