Check out cleaning the Intake Air Control (IAC) valve. The internet will have posts and video.

How many miles on the car? Did this happen all of a sudden or gradually got worse?

okay so I have already clean the IAC valve. In fact I touched it up yesterday with some carb cleaner, I even took the throttle position sensor off to clean behind it.and yes the problem has gradually been getting worse over time. in the beginning it was very much of a problem and now its getting worse and worse to the point where sometimes my car wont even start for 4 or 5 hours

the check engine light is on and it said there's a malfunction in the throttle position circuit. do you think the problem would be fixed if I bought a new one? And replaced it
