What are the exact names of the fuses that keep blowing?

The gauge fuse powers many items on the car, if the engine was replaced then would start with the following. Note all wire colors are red/blue. Make sure the wire to the item is not grounded and check if there is a problem in the item causing a ground issue.

One wire to the alternator.

Speed sensor located on top of the trans housing.

The gear shift indicator light switch for automatic trans. Location behind shift arm on transmission. Follow the shifter cable to the arm.

If the car has ABS, parts of the system such as ABS actuator.

The fuse powers the backup lights. If the car has a manual trans there is a switch on the trans housing thus check here. If auto the switch is built into the gear shift switch already discussed.

The most common problem is in the trunk where the wire harness transitions from the chassis to the trunk lid, check for damage due to flexing.

Check wiring to switch for shorts to ground.

If the switch itself, if clever may be able to take it apart and investigate further.
