Default 99 LE rear window problems

My 99 Camry LE's rear power windows wont raise up. I think the motors on both still work, if I press the button I can hear them hum. I took the panel off of one of the doors to take a quick look, but can't really tell anything definitive. Anyone else had this kind of problem? Is this the kind of repair that possible to do on my own? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Can you help the windows go up by pulling on them when the button is pressed?

The windows could be stuck (need silicone lube) or the drive gear on the motor is stripped.

The photos in the link below show the mechanism (called a regulator) that moves the window up and down. The motor has a gear the engages the teeth shown on the mechanism. If you click on the photos at the right you can see front and back side of the mechanism.

If the teeth on the motor strip out the mechanism will not work.

Internet sites such as YouTube may have videos on replacing the unit. A Haynes service manual may also have the info. It is a common repair.

Do a internet search on 1999 Camry rear door regulator.

I could help them before and they would stay up, but now they just fall. I have to prop them up to stay closed. If the regulator looks intact, then I can assume that the motor gears are shot, right? And, if that's the case I could just replace the motor and not the regulator?
