my 2007 (Australia) camry 4 cyl auto:


stops while driving, and/or wont start when I return to car


intermittent fault


no instrument lights (except door ajar)


comes back to life after 15mins-2 hours


no starter crank


all other electrical ok


replaced battery 10 days ago - tested now at 12.7v and when instrument lights are on, cranks at full speed


any ideas?

 

Check the fuse boxes in the engine compartment for damage, over heating, etc.

Check the 120A ALT fuse and area around it for damage. The fuse may have electrical contact issues.

Note the fuse is bolted to wiring and does not plug in as normal fuses.
