Differential fluid fill hole

Differential fluid fill hole
I just drained the transmission fluid in the pan and in the differential. In looking at my Haynes manual, the illustration shows the fill hole to be on the "front" of the differential which really appears to be towards the back of the car. It looks as if the only way to get fluid into the hole is to run a tube/hose from the top of the engine compartment and fill with a funnel. It's impossible to fill from under the car. If anyone can shed light on the best way to do this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

RE: Differential fluid fill hole
I found clear vinyl tubing from Lowes/Home Depot pressed onto the spout of an existing funnel was flexible enough to make the bend into the fill hole, and you can get the length you need. Make sure the OD is small enough to fit into the fill hole.

RE: Differential fluid fill hole
Thanks for the info folks....that's exactly what I did. Wasn't until past closing time at Pep Boys and O'Reillys did I discover this issue but went to Wal-Mart and found an extension funnel as well as a pre-measure funnel withabout a foot of clear tubing. I pulled the tubing off the pre-measure funnel and put it on the extension funneland had plenty of room. I was amazed that when I pulled the drain plug, the old fluid was still a bright red!
Thanks again for the help!
