Location of air intake for the heating system
Where is the air intake for the heating system in a 1999 camry? Also I'm getting mice in my car I was wondering if there was anywhere else they could get in because I want to block those areas off with screen.

There are two intake locations. One in front of the windshield for fresh air. The other under the dash for bypass air. There are also air exhaust outlets under the front seats which are not protected as the dash outlets.
Mice can enter the bypass vents and the outlet under the seats.
Look under the passengers side of the dash for the round blower motor body. The vents are on the box above the blower motor. Look under the front seats for the outlets.
If you have mice also check for debris in the engine filter box.

Don't block, use a screen course enough to block mice. I have used 1/2 screen, hot melt glued to the case and vents.
If the bypass vent is blocked the recirc air will be blocked.
