Default Newbie needs help w/ 97 valve cover gasket

Hi ! I have a friend that needs help w/ her leaking valve cover gasket on her 1997, 2.2 liter Camry. I would like to help her, but after looking @ it I could not see how to remove the cover (where are the bolts that hold it on ?). Any help would be appreciated !

P.S. I just purchased my first Camry in November........a 2009 SE, 4 cylinder !

The AutoZone website has info on removing the cover.

Find the plug wires and (or ign coils if the are located above the valve cover). Remove them from the valve cover by pulling them out.

This will expose the large nut on each spark plug tube that is holding the cover down. Use a large wrench to unscrew the nut CCW. Also remove the PVC hose.

I have the instructions from the Autozone website. Do you know the size of the socket I will need to remove the four nuts and grommets ? Are these nuts, the actual sparkplugs ?

30mm. Yes remove the nuts and grommets they screw onto the spark plug tubes. The tubes will stay attached to the head. The spark plugs are way down inside the tubes and screwed into the head.

Nut torque is around 29 lb-ft. Keep snugging the nuts down until a constant torque value is reached, the grommets compress.
