Find the SMALL black/red electrical wire going to the starter solenoid. Check for 12V when ign key turned to start.

If I do not get 12V power to the solenoid is there a problem from the key/ignition to the starter? IF so is the key switch bad or the wiring.

Are there any fuzes for the ignition system/starter behind the glove box?

so this an automatic ..and the car wont start in either drive or neutral

I dont get this.... you put a lot of parts into the car and still no start

I read you cleaned the neutral starting switch ... I know you can take them apart ..

questions

how were the brass contacts inside your unit

the unit has slots at the bolts at the gearbox

see attachment set up to the neutral position for the gear box

does the shift stick line up to the drive and neutral position ?

after installing the NSS it did not start. last night i walked away from it. This morning I go outside and for the fun of it I'd try to start the car, It started???? I ran through the gears and shifted the way it should. the indicators light up. When I cleaned the switch the brass contacts were clean along with the two brushes. I know there is 12v to the main bolt on the starter, and can assume 12v to the solenoid. the ign fuze on the left side of the dash is good and the starter relay is good(it started). The ign. key I don't believe is the problem nor the cable(harness). I checked the grounds on the battery side (clean and tight). Why does the car start without doing anything to it? reseting a switch or module by itself??? Since it does run again I may purchase a new NSS if there is a interment issue with the NSS(or connector) and check the alienment and hope for the best. I even cleaned the connectors with CRC at the switch. IF after the new NSS I have the same problem the car is history....

When the engine does not turn over. Is there 12V at the small wire going to the solenoid when the ign key is turned to start, yes or no?

no cable volts
not a good enough earth ?

you already did this
you cleaned the copper and fitted a new terminal at one end

was it a brass terminal and you cleaned the battery terminal

so must be this
check the chassis end.. clean up back to bare metal where the bolt holds

if no better refit a new cable ..maybe the whole cable has corrosion or a break

another NSS would give you reliability
double check Me on the NSS alignment procedure
