Default Noise after removing splash guards?

My front splash guards (under the engine) have been hanging forever on my 2003 toyota camry. I finally had enough and just took them off right before travelling 150 miles on the highway. They whole time driving, there was a loud rattling type noise (maybe from the wind)? My car has NEVER made this noise until I took off the splash guards. Should I have the dealer replace the splash guard (I still have all of the parts in my trunk)?

By itself removing these items should not result in a rattle.

Perhaps in removing the guards something became amiss. Suggest you look around the car for something that may have become loose. It is possible a clip or fastener used hold on the guard also held together some other shield or part which is now free to rattle.

There purpose is also to help route cooling air flow and improve the cars aerodynamics.

Check the guards you have to determine if the holes where they attach to the frame are torn out (meaning can they be reinstalled). If they are OK, any shop should be able to reinstall them.

I agree, most of the times loosen bolts or some connection causes problems, double check those connections.

Thank you! I figured out that the splash shield in the wheel house had come loose.
