Replacement tires on my stock 17 inch rims.....
I'm replacing my tires 215/55r17, with 245/50ZR17! One particular shop notes theses will fit but further search another say they won't....
Has anyone every change from standard (OEM) to a wider tire?
What is the widest tire you've mounted on stock rims (17 inch SE)
Any & All feedback is greatly appreciated!!!

The tire industry recommends tire diameter/height stay within 3% of original due to concerns of placing excess load on the brakes. However exceeding this is commonly done.
Tire shops have info on what tires sizes can be mounted on what rims. Who ever you buy the tires from should be able to tell you.
The 245/50 will fit a 7 inch wide rim which think is stock. If 6.5 inches wide, the tires are too wide. Will fit Camry having factory 17 x 7 inch rims.
If going for max width, clearing suspension parts become an issue. Both width and height need to be considered to get the overall tire profile.
