replacing the batterybut security system keeps honking

I tried to replace the battery in my 99 camry but when i connect up the terminals the alarm starts honking. I have never used the securikey system from the factory and didn't even know it was on the car. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it.

Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery set the alarm off.

Try this to disarm.

Key NOT in ignition.  Close all doors and hood, lock all doors using key or use the remote.
