Hey all, I have the well known camry problem where the check engine light is on and the codes are 0401 and 0402 (I think). Most research shows that this problem is the VSV in the EGR system. I am looking to buy either the entire EGR system or just the VSV for my 97 camry 4cyl 5SFE engine. Just reply to this post if you can help! I prefer not to fork out $80+ for a new part, so I figured I would start here. Thanks!!

If code 0401, the EGR system is has insufficient exhaust gas flow. If code 0402, there is too much flow. Check the 0402 code first, could be a stuck open EGR valve, MAF sensor or ECU. The EGR valve can get plugged up with carbon and need cleaning.
