'94 V6 Camry - OBD1 or OBD2??

Chutem -> '94 V6 Camry - OBD1 or OBD2?? (2/11/2008 7:40:35 PM)

I'm trying to find out if my car is OBD2 or not ('94 V6 coupe). The Haynes book is useless. Just bought a new Actron scan tool (9145) to use on my '02 Jeep. I think the tool will work on the Camry as wll, but I'm not sure if I will need a special adapter cable that they sell. Any help would be greatly appreciated. FYI, go to Amazon.com if your looking for a scan tool - prices are the best! Thanks in advance.

Think Toyota started using ODBII on the 1995 Camry with V6 option.  For sure all cars had ODBII by 1996.  A car with ODBII would have a sticker on the hood stating this.

This car has ODBI (or whatever Toyota calls it).  One does not need a seperate code reader for this car as it has an indictor output system using blinking lights. The number of codes is very small compared to ODBII.  The dealer has a plugin reader for this system but have never seen any aftermarket types for sale.
