I own a 1999 Camry with 105K miles, and have changed transmission fluid once. Now, I want to check the tranny fluid level and the manual does NOT include any reference about this process. Where is the dipstick and what is recommended? And, why in the world does Toyota not provide any information about what should be a simple DYI job? HELP!

The trans should have a dipstick similar to the engne. Find the trans, then the dipstick. With trans fluid hot, engine running, parking brake on. Shift through the gears from P to R and back, then check the fluid level (engine on). The dipstick will have several marks, use the ones labeled "Hot." The fluid should be between the two marks. If the trans fluid has never been changed suggest doing so to prolong its life.
