My 2007 camry heat/air fan is making a noise. How do I access this area?

Guess I will answer my own question. First remove the plastic cover, then remove the three screws holding the fan and squirrel cage in place. That is when I discovered two dead baby mice, two live baby mice, and acorn shells. The cabin filter had been chewed through allowing the baby mice and shells to fall into the fan area.

SO NOW IS MY NEXT QUESTION HOW DO I KEEP MICE OUT? THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR EVERY TOYOTA (9) I HAVE OWNED.
