Please help.

I have spent a lot of money trying to fix this problem. The car is giving 10 mpg on the highway with air conditioner on. I have tunned up the car, changed the timing belt etc. but the problem still persists. My mechanic suggested to buy a fuel injector kit. Will this fix the problem or make it better? Should I look for other problems with the car?

The mechanic connected the car to the computer and the result was that it needed service but everything is new from the dealer (cables, spark plugs, filter etc.).

The car is V4 with 112,000 miles.

Please help.

sorry dude i just saw this question for the first time. Have you changed you oxygen sensors? They can affect your gas mileage and will be alot cheaper than fuel injectors. In fact i can seel you both the sensors you need for you car if you want to try that i'll give you a deal my email is lavalleemike22@cox.net

The problem is the oversized wheels you have, and any other extra weight you might have in the car, i.e. stereo system etc. I have a 2000 Camry v6 5spd supercharged @ 7 psi. Stock I was getting 18 to 19 mpg in the city on the stock 15's. Once I started rolling on 18"Arelli Czar's w/ 225/40/18 tires the mpg went down to 14 mpg. Now w/ a 1000 watt stereo and 7 psi, I'm lucky if I get 10 mpg. Food for thought, the stock setup(rims & tires) is about 36 lbs. My current setup is 48 lbs. Point blank your car needs to shed unnecessary lbs.
