I'm looking for a car for my girlfriend and came across a 95 Camry Coupe with 87k miles on it. We took it for a test drive and everything drove nice, but when I popped the hood the engine has a slight rattling noise. It sounded like a loose cover of some sort, but the two plastic covers on the top of the engine were tight.

I have a 92 with the 2.2L and it sounds "strained" when it's running but has done that since day one. I've never heard a V6 run, so I don't know if what I'm hearing is normal. Can anyone fill me in?

these noises are hard to describe with words but my v6 has always made some noises, although people say its very quiet. it sure idles quieter than most any i4.

its cam raddle the cam shafts sometimes wabble usually it doesn't cause anything but, a little noise
