Hi, I was recently given a 1987 Toyota Camry LE as a b-day gift. The car was said to be sitting around for two years... I just got a new battery so that i can crank the engine. I was wondering what I should do? It has about 200 000 km on it. A friend of mine told me that I have to drain all the fluids in the vehicle (brake fluid, engine oil, radiator fluid, etc.)... is that really necessary?

Well, are you experiencing problems as your title tag says? As far as fluid replacement. If the car sat that long without really being run much, I'd change the stuff and have as much looked over and checked as possible. Sitting is one of the worse things for a car. It just kinda rots away. The seals do not get juiced and can dry rot, the oil and water levels lower, get old and usually have settlings in them. Plus, who knows how long the car went before that without servicing!? I'd have a mechanic look it over, brakes, discs, drums and lines, keep an eye on the water pump, fliuds servicing, transaxle filter and grease changed, engine oil filter, plugs and maybe wires at least checked etc. Again, that is quite a few kilos for it not to be pampered a bit, even though they (Toyota's) have a fairly good track record! Cheers
