Well lets see. Its got someting to with your fuel delivery/air intake. This could be a multitude of senseors etc. Did the person that ran the codes tell you anything else or is the car doing anything differently?

Most likely you have a bad oxygen sensor. This would be the first oxygen sensor if you have more than one meaning the one closest to the engine and BEFORE the catalytic converter. They're pretty common and inexpensive enough where I'd recomend changing that first and see if the light goes out on it's own.

If it doesn't then bring it somewhere for diagnostic. Bringing it there first will end up costing you more for the sensor plus the time it took them to confirm it IF it is the sensor which it most likely is.

If you put a sensor in it and it doesn't fix it then you'd have to have it diagnosed plus be out whatever the sensor costs which is also bad but then at least you have a new sensor to show for it and most likely it WILL fix it. It's a risk either way but I recomend throwing a sensor at it first if its in the $100 price range.

Good luck and post back when it's fixed.

Are you suggesting he replace the MAF sensor first? I'm pretty sure the O2 sensor is A LOT cheaper than the MAF sensor and if he's going to start throwing parts at it as opposed to paying high diagnostic charges then I'd recomend going with the cheapest possibilities first. I looked that code up on IATN and didn't get any hits on MAF's not to say that it dosn't happen cause I'm sure it does but I wouldn't say it's common enough to take a risk in replacing that first instead of a part that's much much cheaper.
