im new to this forum. my names caleb im from louisiana and i drive a 2002 camry le 5 speed. it has some modifications made and most people don't believe its a camry. it is uniqe and fast. but i am having problems with my clutch. i think my slave cylinder is going out. when i run it up to about 5500 it grinds when i try to put it in gear. if i dont run it up it wont grind, but im sure you guys know how it is. does anyone know if there is some kind of upgraded slave cylinder for that car. and if there is where could i find it.

Hello from a fellow Louisianian.  If you see a silver 2007 LE 4cyl when driving around, it just might be me... or one of the thousands of other silver 07 Camry owners out there

you can also try to upgrade the disk itself of the whole clutch unit.. which is bit more but it will grab harder and wont slip/grind.

in reply to black95cam, ive already changed the clutch twice. it went out a couple weeks after i got the car, and then i bought one off of ebay and it lasted about three weeks i had 1400 miles on it, but i dont think i broke it in long enough. now i have a toyota clutch. i would like to put a centerforce dual friction, but im not looking foreward to pulling everything down again. i work at a toyota dealership  and one of  tech's thats been there 9 years said hes 99 percent sure its my slave cylinder. i dont have a problem with it slipping, it just doesnt want to disengage when i run the engine up toward the redline. and it only does it sometimes..

i see... did you try TRD and see what they have? aftermarket/performances parts are much harder to find for Camrys.. unless you have resources or just good at looking stuff up...
