i just ordered new tires and rims...and i was wondering if there's anything else i'd need MOUNTING WISE .. like hub-rings or spacers or what not.. cuz i've read somewhere that some cars may need it bcuz the car would have a certain pull to it.. it's for my 4th gen.. the 5th gen is fine.. but yeah_kinda stumped?..

Spacers aren't a good idea.It is possible that they will fall off while the car is moving (not too likely I don't guess, but even the tire people will tell you not to trust them,I work at a tire place) With larger tires your speedometer won't be correct. You might want to have it recalibrated.

And how the rims fit would depend on the offset of the rims, and the size of the tires,I just put 16" rims on my 94 camry,no issues at all,and I have 225/50/16 tires

I'll look around. I dont know of any shop around my area that does. The dealership I work at doesnt. Either way I'm determined to find a shop that can do this.

and i will actaully answer the original question =)

you may need 'tuner' wheel nuts, depending on the wheels you purchased as standard nuts are very large. you WILL need to buy them if you are coming from OEM alloy wheels. you want 12x1.5mm 60degree conical nuts. either way, get yourself a new wheel brace.

you WILL want to buy hubcentric/spignot/locator rings. most aftermarket wheels have 70 or 73mm bores. toyota use a 63mm bore so you will be after a 70 or 73mm outer and 63mm inner sized ring.

if you NEED spacers (and this is after the possiblity of downsizing tyre section width) then i suggest you sell and purchase wheels with the correct offset to begin with =)

wheel balance.

remember not to drive too hard the first hundred miles or so to let all the lubricants dry (used during tyre mounting) and tyre preservatives to wear off.

its been a while, how did it go?
