I have 1997 Toyoto Camry.
The steering gets locked in cold weather on turning left. This doesn't happen always. It happens once in a while. But it happens so bad that if i am driving and try to take left turn, car wouldn't want to go left at all. It will make humming noise and alsmost stop.
Trid to get it checked with 3 mechanics and everyone is saying there is no problem with the car. They suggest to replace coils or something else.

Please let me know what could be the possible answer.

Have ur power steering fluid checked and maybe if its fine check ur hoses for debris, on most cars there are seperate hoses to left and right steering and if they clog it can alter or stop altogether the ability to turn the car, you wouldnt think this true but if there is enough perssure built up in the line it will fight ur normal steering columns mechanisms and caus backpressure so it wants to go the other way but not left. since in cold weather the fluid thickens it might be getting thick enough to be stopped by somehitng and when warm thinned out to pass by if there is a debris.

Have the same problem a few times.  Typically first startup in very cold weather pulling out of the driveway.  The fluid level is OK, the PS system in good condition.  Assume the cold fluid is causing a valve to stick.
