New carpet and shift knob cover

The 2004 Camry I just bought is like new except for the carpet which appears as if the lady dumped a few pots of coffee in each foot well and left it there. I am going to order replacement carpet and am curious if anyone has done this. The carpet is $200 but everything has to be removed, seats, console, seatbelts, thresholds, etc. Anyone have experience?

I would like to get a nice shift knob cover to preserve the original leather one. Anyone have any suggestions on where to get one?

No experience on this year but is straight forward IF you have some kind of service info on how to remove these items. The center console may have hidden clips requiring insertion of a bladed device at a certain location to release. It helps to know this location.

The seat belts typically don't need removing.

If the seats have airbags DO NOT turn on the ign key if the airbag is disconnected or it will trigger a fault code. If disconnecting an airbag the manufacturer states to disconnect battery and wait 90 seconds for system to disarm. Thus research before hand what happens when the battery is disconnected then reconnected in terms of other components. You might just remove the airbag fuse.

You can order everything from the online store of Stock Interiors and Auto-Interior.

This is an older post but I wanted to post what I found out regarding pricing for Toyota OEM Carpet.

I attempted to install a carpet kit from an online retailer mentioned frequently on this forum. It was so difficult that I gave up and went to an upholstery shop. I am not inexperienced in this area either. I have completed the interior on several cars, but wouldn't recommend doing the carpet on a Camry.

The dealership wanted $821 for the carpet kit on a 2007 Camry. That was just for the part. I was able to get this completed by an upholstery shop for $350.
