rims and tires 07 camry?? I need help
Hi I have an 07 camrySE v6 with the original 17" tiresalluminum alloyrims on it. I want to upgrade myrims to chrome but unsure of what size i want. I was thinking keeping the original 17 size but 18 or possibly 19is tempting. My problem is that I want to keep therim and tire ratio the same so for exampleif i get biggerrims i want to get lower profile tires to keep everything the same so i do not mess up theperformance of the car. I am also looking to do this with a $1000-$1200 budget. I would keep the original 17 tires on it and get 17" rims but i dont think they would look good with the original profile of those tires.
So I have no idea what kind to get and what to do Im lost. Any info would be a big help |

For '07s- i'd go with 19's.. 2 reasons; decent mileage and fills in the gaps pretty well.. 18s gets swallowed into the wheel well and that's the look i try to avoid the most. You guys should check out cardomain.com for some ideas on what camrys look like w/rims on. You might find something there that'll inspire you.

Akira?? what kind of tires do you have?? i know your using 225 45 18

RE: rims and tires 07 camry?? I need help
I tried 18"s and they didn't seem big enough to me, with the size of the wheel well and our car in general. I initially wanted 19"s but 40 series tires were just too expensive and a 35 would leave too much wheel gap. I ended up with 20"s and 235/35 20 tires. They fit just fine and the ride quality wasn't compromised much at all.

hey can we see a pic of the rims on your car? i've been thinking about getting 20's
|
RE: rims and tires 07 camry?? I need help
18's didn't work for me either, they seemd too small even with the car lowered. Here's a pic of mine with 20's.

RE: rims and tires 07 camry?? I need help
lol i cant believe the camry has just become so freaking huge that people need to use 20's to fill up the wheel wells. its turning into some kind of chevy impala..
|
RE: rims and tires 07 camry?? I need help
Any clearance issues? From what the informed "experts" say; 20's are to big for the wheel well and the tire will hit struts and bottom out causing rubbing when turning or under compresson. Please advise!

RE: rims and tires 07 camry?? I need help
i was afraid to get 20" on my car as well. i ended up going with 18"s, but i think i will be upgrading hopefully in the near future.
by the way, very nice wheels 07cam. |
RE: rims and tires 07 camry?? I need help
There are lot of Gen 6 Camrys rolling on 20's with no rubbing issues. I even saw one with 22's.

RE: rims and tires 07 camry?? I need help
I think 20's work just fine. 235/35/R20 no rub on my LE.

19s or 20s would be just fine I guess... my friend has 20s installed on his 07 Camry

RE: rims and tires 07 camry?? I need help
I have been looking at a great set of american racing rims currently configured with quite wide tires.... I have been warned as well about rubbing on the struts particularily with a full passenger load.
235/50/ZR 18 the rims are 18 x 8.5 |
RE: rims and tires 07 camry?? I need help
It depends on the offset.
 |
RE: rims and tires 07 camry?? I need help
Sorry for not thinking of that, but what is the acceptable range of offset.
I am presuming that the acceptableoffset is going to be affected by the actual width of the rim as well? Any recomendations of agood combination of offset and rims size. thanks |
RE: rims and tires 07 camry?? I need help
For that setup +35 to +42 should work.

have you found any rims you like? maybe you can make a list of ideas you maybe have and let us tell you what we think. Personally i went with TRD 18" factory option wheels cause i like all my parts to be within the toyota family and my car sits lower to the ground.

Akira751,
I am considering the 18" TRD wheels and lowering springs... Have you noted any performance issues or rubbing? Any problems with 4 passengers? |

No issues in performance, I only rubbed 1 time with 5 people and 2 of them were big boys and were driving on some bad roads in downtown DC. |
RE: rims and tires 07 camry?? I need help
I just put some black 20" BZO Fortune rims on my 04 Camry (Replacing the 17" Sachi rims I had on), and I love them. Ride quality was slightly worse on bad roads, but overall not bad. And the looks are worth it. I will be lowering it 1.5" with Intrax springs in a couple weeks, which should take care of the wheel well gaps. Here is a link to some pics:

I know that 20's are big on a camry. They work but are not fully funtional when it come to turning and grinding. 18 look a bit too small and I wouldnt recomend them.Especially for looks! 19 seem to be the perfect size. They dont grind and look bad ass.....but if you live in california they are a bit hard to find tires for. Tire places usually cary 24-22-20-18 you know by the 2's. Not impossible though. Those are the rims i'm geting on my car
