Default rims and tires

i have a toyota camry 2002 silver. i want to change the rims and tires. i have now 15". i want to make the car looks good but i dont want to have the very skinny tire. my friend suggest to go with 17" or 18" rims. what do you think? will the car looks good with 17" or 18" rims? should i go with chrome or painted? people say chrome looks nice but it gets mess up in the snow and there other problems too.

Chrome on silver IMO .. REMEMBER.. its only an and nothing more than an OPINION. Silver on chrome is too common; Silver on black is common in the ricer community LOL. Wheels with a lip looks gross overtime- So; i'd go with one of these or something like it because the spokes goes pretty close to the tip of the wheels and it'll give a bigger look than it really is.My 2002 with 17" really doesn't cut it.
So- when i do get a do-over; im gonna go with these in 18x8 on 215/50r18 OR 245/45-18. I like to keep the sidewall high because our roads here in norcal isn't really a very desirable road for low-pros.

ok cool thanks for the advice. by the way, how is driving feels like with 18" rims? is it comfortable or you feel all the bumps on the street?

i am new when it come to tires/rim. what does the 8 after the x means? what about the 50r and 45- means?
18x8 on 215/50r18 OR 245/45-18

by the way, do u have some pics of your car so i can take a look at it in different angle?

My rims are 18x7.5 with a +45 offset Nexo Px-5 Gunmetal with a inner chrome lip. My tires are Toyo Proxes 4s 225/45/18 all bought from wheelmax.com. With a silver Camry both wheels will look good on your car. Remember by what you like. Its your car.

Im lookin to throw some rims on my 94le as soon as my hand heals (it broke...[X(]) And same asone_to_hate Im thinkin NO lowpros or I'll be buyin new tires every week.I just found the front are 205/70/14 whereas the back are 195/70/14... sounds backwards to me..I think the fronts are a good size, but what would the numbers be on the new rim? I have a 14x5.5 stockrim now, ad I've only found x6 lowest. so If I went with the 15x6, what size tire would I get to keep the same circumfrence?

Hey bro, go to:

http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

and punch in your vehicle year and make and then you can punch in different tire sizes to see how close they are to stock. I just got some BZO 20 inch rims, but with a low profile that matches my factory rims. The speedometer is exactly the same, no rubbing, perfect fit with these 20's on the camry. I wish I'd known you were looking for rims, Jay, I would've given you a good deal on my old 17" Sachi's - but I gave em to my buddy for his car. I got some black 20" spinners to put on in the summer too - I'll post new pics of the ricer trash soon.

P.S. - I spent the whole day today hooking up the slim line PS2 to all the screens and putting new Infinity Kappa's in the rear deck and putting in another 1000 watt amp (2500 watts total). Dude, playing Madden '09 in there with the sound system cranked is the sh-t.
