Toyota Camry Hybrid Concept

Toyota Australia President and Chief Executive Officer Max Yasuda called the concept the most important vehicle on the company's auto show stand. "The hybrid Camry — which will share some key design features with the HC-CV — will play a key role in bringing the future to the Australian automotive manufacturing sector," he said.

The Camry Hybrid uses a four-cylinder gasoline engine linked to a powerful electric motor. It produces more power than a conventional gasoline-engined vehicle while delivering better fuel economy.

Toyota Style Australia Corporate Mmanager Paul Beranger said Toyota is committed to trying to plot a course for the post-oil age and noted that plastics for structures and trim of future models, potentially in little more than a decade, could be produced from plant fibers, including seaweed.
