Default 2010 Camry

In the center console just below the radio there is a container that has a 12V and Aux input. Does anyknow know if the 12V loses power when the car is turned off? I'm plugging an amplifier into it for my ipod and want to be sure it doesn't keep drawing power when the car is off.

Thanks,
Chris

if you have a dmm (digital multimeter) you can tell pretty easily. hook to the wires you intend to use and turn off the car and remove the keys. if it stays powered then you don't want that connection. Usually the cigarette lighter/accessory adapters are not powered when the car is off. that is an easy one to hook into as well. (you can get a dmm at radion shac for like $20-30 and you can use that for lots of future projects)
