I would like to install a fender-located power antenna on my 2000. I found a couple of places that suggest mast antennas were installed on Camrys but I haven't found and pics or diagrams so far. If they were does anybody know where they were located?

 

To obtain the location of the hole, find a similar year Camry (1996-2001) having a mast. The mast motor (if powered) and wiring go behind the trunk side panel.

For drilling the hole, research ham radio sites who operators install mast antennas.

Take note of the hole cutter as some work well and others not.

After a little more research I discovered the Camry CE had the mast antenna. Found some Camrys for sale on eBay and found a good pic that I inserted into my CAD program and scaled it to get the proper dimensions. Now I just need to see if the standard aftermarket antenna bases will match the extreme angle of the quarter panel.

I could pay the couple hundredish $ for a factory antenna if I have to!

Try auto salvage yards (97-01) and get all of the antenna including wire to radio.
