Default After market or Stock?

Hi all, I just recently switched over from a mbenz to a toyota. Both my mom and dad have camrys, so they got me one too considering its realiability and gas consumption. I have a Blanpunkt Tampa Bay CD51 laying around and was wondering if I should replace the stock unit with this? Will it be better? I today installed 2 new spearkers in the rear deck (Mitzu 6x9 900w each) and one of my friends told me that I need a preamp to get these to work well. They have a 33oz magnet- far heavier than the stock ones but they are not hitting as hard as I expected them too. The after market cd player I have has 4 preamps at 50w each. So for now untill I buy an amp (which wont be anytime soon) should I keep the stock or put the after market in? Thanks!

i'd stick with the stock deck.. sell the blaupunkt (i've tried their products, and lemme tell ya- i wish i hadn't but the to each person is their own opinion) and start saving up for a used mid level pioneer or maybe a lower end PLUS a 2ch. amp. if you're just planning on those two speakers but if you're gonna go with bigger- then get 4 or even 5 ch. amp.

Well unfourtunetly im reallly impatient, and didnt wait for a reply. I put in the Blanpunkt and believe it or not it made a big difference. Bumps harder, clearer sound, higher sound levels, etc... I need to raise money for my insurance first before I spend anymore money on this car, im 17 and I pay for everything that has to do with my car. BTW what watt amp should I get? Thanks!

lol. sell me your original deck! what year?

i like to get USED car audio because its already depriciated. AND its hard to resell car audio at store prices because their values go down so much.

Pioneer
Kenwood
MTX
etc. try to ditch ones that are knock-offs and a ridiculous amount ov chrome.

im in the same boat as you. but im 18 in college which cost a grip load more but still do able. just take time and if know the right people you can get some good at a decent price. and like ialways say, you get what you pay for (only applied if you but it brand new from store). as far as what amp you should get. well what are you plans as far as subs, upgrading doors, etc... ?

Well I'd like to get a high-powered sub in the near furture, and I also want to replace the door speakers asap. But I'm pretty sure that I wont want to spend more than $400 on it all, maybe a little bit more. Doesnt have to be a quality system, just something that will work and be realiable. I need to find a job first lol.

with $400 you can get a used system but if you want brand new then it might be more depend on what brand you get and where you get it from. one thing about amp that people mistake, the number of watts on the amp is there to fool you. always go by the RMS out put. usually the WRMS (watts root mean square) is half or a bit less then what the number is stated on the amp. for example, a kenwood amps says 1000 watts, but put that to RMS term its about 500 or less.

thats explains it better then i can..

have fun and good luck
