Aircondioning not blowing through center vents
I have a 95 Camry LE with the 4 cyl engine. The air conditioner has always worked great until now. All of a sudden the air is not blowing through the center vents. The air is cold and coming through the passenger vent. The drivers side vent has some air coming through but not as much as it should. I'm hoping someone can give me an idea of how to fix my problem. Thanks

The air routing is through various dampers. Does the airflow output location or quantity of air change when changing the output location switch?

I'm sorry but I'm not sure I understand your question. What I believe is the flap that allows the air through the center vents has stuck closed.

When the air position switch is moved to floor, defrost, etc, various damper doors move to route the air. However some air continues to be routed to other outlets.
The center vent damper could be stuck or all dampers could not be working. The question is if you chose an air outlet position with the switch does the air flow to the various outlets change at least somewhat? The dampers are controlled by small motors. Look under the dash on the drivers side of the center console for the motor and lever that attach to the damper. Determine if the damper arm moves when the switch position is changed. |
I went out this morning started the car and the air was working like it should. The air was blowing cold through all the vents on the dash. Now I don't know what to think, just glad it's working again.

Post back if the problem reoccurs.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I like this old car,my dad bought it new in 1995 and I got it after he passed away in 2014. It still looks really good and has just under 133,000 miles. I plan on driving it for a long time if it doesn't give me to many problems.

Sounds like the same problem I'm having -- no heat from dash vents on either side of the radio 2010 Camry
