Default Electronics Drawing Down 2011 Hybrid Battery

My 2011 Camry Hybrid has been working fine for almost a year but just recently the touch screen started acting up, getting wavy and unusable as if something was interfering with it. I've got a new one on order but now I'm finding the 12 V battery is dead (drawn down to less than 6 volts according to my multimeter) so far 6 mornings in a row. The Toyota service people thought that the battery draw down problem was due to some glitch with the headlights being selected Auto, but selecting the headlights Off did not stop the problem. They now think that it may be due to the malfunctioning electronics unit. Any other experiences with this?

Here's an update. Yesterday I figured out how to turn the touch screen off. I pressed the "DISP" button and then touched the "Screen Off" button on the touch scree. The back up camera image still appeared when the cars gear was in reverse and it still would show the temporary messages for bluetooth connected and audio control changes but was blank other than that. I turned the display off last night before turning the car off for the night and the battery was not dead this morning.
