Gen 4 speaker replacement question

I was wondering how I can get to the rear deck speakers to replace them. Also, does anyone know of any 7-inchers for the front doors? I've only seen 6.5s that "supposedly" fit.

Thanks, guys.

RE: Gen 4 speaker replacement question

7 is custom.
All oem speakers on the gen 4 are custom mounted, but the fronts use 6.5" and rears are 6x9" speakers. You may to buy or fabricate mounts for the new speakers so they dont rattle, or you can just drill them into the metal.
The rear deck speakers are accessable by removing parts of the rear seat.

First, pull up on the bottom seat cushion. there are two hooks/pins that pop out when you yank at the center of the left/right seat areas. After that just slide the cushion out.

You will then see bolts underneath. You now need to unbolt and remove the two side cushions where the seatbelts rest on. They unbolt from the bottom then slide upwards then out.

Fold the split fold rear seats down, and now you need to remove two plastic panels. They are on the C-pillar of the car. They are the wall trim next to the rear passenger head that go along the rear window and touch the rear deck. They have clips that pop out too.

Finally the rear deck has a few clips of its own, but you basically use your hands to pry at it and pull upwards. You will need to get into the trunk first and pop off the high mount brake light assembly before the deck is free. Pop pop pop and then you'll slide the deck towards you (towards front of the car). Peel the black soundproofing back, and you've got ur speakers!
