Installing Ground-Loop Isolator into 2007 Camry
Hello,
My name is Martin, new to this forum. I am trying to install a Ground-Loop Isolator to my factory stereo/cd that came with my 2007 Camry CE. I have an external GPS with bluetooth (for hands free cell) and MP3 playback. I have been connecting it into the Aux input. All works well until battery runs low and I need to plug in the power 12v adapter. IT then creates an annoying humming sound that according to Tom Tom forums can only be removed by adding a Ground-Loop Isolator. The OME stereo does not have RCA inputs. The back side of the Aux input has a 4-pin plug (green-green-brown-red). I have no idea how to connect this isolator. Any help would be appreciated. Martin |
The isolator is plugged between the aux input of the radio and the device you are using.
Isolators due come with different plugs then RCA type, see link below and PNI-135 Mini-Jack unit: http://www.bizrate.com/caraccessorie...ator+cars.html |
I was hoping or something that can be permanently installed behind the radio and out of sight.
thanks for your reply. I will consider buying an isolator with a 3.5 mm plug. Martin |
I found the solution to my problem. For anyone interested see the link below:

I wish. I am up to 44k miles. I called the dealer today for prices. The plug is $15 and the condenser is another $75. An expensive fix so I will hold off for now until things are a little better financially.

If you want to go with Toyota fix try the Toyota dealer at the link below. Mail order parts at 15% over dealer cost, great service to!
http://www.1sttoyotaparts.com/ Condensor is the same name for capacitor. This is a differant device then a ground loop isolator. The condensor is sized to bleed off the electrical signals that are making the noise to ground. The other device isolates one circuit from another via a transformer and eliminates any issues with grounding. Condensors are already used on the car to dampen out electrical signals from the alternator and ign system. |
That is awesome!! I save over $40 buying from this site you recommended..
THANKS!! |
