Default No XM in my 2012. Help

I just purchased my first Toyota last week. A 2012 Camry. Great car of course. Was told by the sales person it had XM. It has the touch screen display, but not the premium audio. Am I missing something? Or is there no SAT on this unit? Can XM be added? Or is a replacement Camry radio with SAT necessary? Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

Have you read the owners manual which should explain the system?

Just what did the dealer state? Was it that the radio was setup for XM?

Does the radio bring up the XM radio selection and the car have the SAT antenna? The antenna is short and stubby located on top of the car at the the rear of the passenger compartment.

XM radio requires another antenna, maybe a attached receiver plus a subscription to the service. All this should be covered in the manual.

My 2011 has a seperate wired magnetic mounted XM antenna on the top of the car just above the front window. Setting up the new system was a pain since the directions in the owners manual are WRONG. You cannot go to the channel it tells you too on the base model radio anyway. To get the radio address needed by XM to turn on the service. You must go to the last channel and then push the dash mounted channel select button to get the radio's call number to display. It may be one of the other select buttons. I spent 1 hour on the phone with someone from customer service in India or Pakistan, trying to figure it out...

Excellent info, CASisco. Thanks for sharing and answering. It sounds like this is a common pain for many Camry owners.
