Wire Through Firewall '96 Camry
I am trying to install an amp in my 1996 Camry, Does anyone know where the power wires pass through the firewall in this car? I have looked around a little but nothing really jumped out at me as being right. Thanks.

Drill through the firewall right below the brake cylinder (i think that's what its called) The big black dish like stuck onto the firewall in the engine bay on the driver side. hehehe.

ok look under the hood. i did this a few days ago. on the left hand side (passenger side), you should see a hole. its big enough for 8 gauge wire or smaller. insulation is blocking the hole from the inside of passenger space. i took hanger wire and pushed through. not straight through. must be angled down. good luck.
ps. remove rubber stopper from hole first. |

drill a new hole. dont be affraid to make new holes. just seal them and dont make to many. just make sure there is nothing on the other side. lol

I thought I'd get back to you on how I did this. Just to the left and above the brake there was a little pre notched hole in the firewall. I assume that it was there for other wires to be run through by toyota if I had more options (or possibly a clutch) on the car. Drilling through here was perfect, it comes out in a nice open easy to get to area in the engine bay and from there is a short run to the battery. On the inside you can easily run the wires through the kick panel and then under the door sill and completely out of sight all the way to the back of the car. Thanks for all your help.
